Reproductive Freedom Amendment
Hoped for Ballot: Not yet determined
The Ballotpedia page for this is not yet established at this writing.
Current Status: Legislative proposal.
First reading March 4, 2025 assigned to Health & Long Term Care Committee:
The 2025 session ended without further action. On January 12, 2026, it was carried over to the 2026 session. The 2026 session, being in an even year, is only 60 days. It’s possible that it may yet go on the November 2026 ballot, but currently it’s only a bill with no action taken.
The resolution requires a 2/3 vote in both the Senate and the House before it would be sent to voters.
Abortion isn’t Freedom for Women
Setting aside the violence (and therefore lack of equal protection) done to unborn children, a point which proponents of this measure steadfastly ignore, the rhetoric they use about women also steadfastly ignores harm done. Here are some of the Consistent Life Network’s blog posts that explain this. They can offer good ideas for opponents of this measure to use in their work:
Abortion and Violence Against Pregnant Women
