Hawaii Abortion Referendum

 

 

State Constitutional Amendment:

Protect the Right to Reproductive Freedom

HB728 was introduced and assigned to committees on January 21, 2025. SB297 was introduced on January 15, 2025 and assigned to committees on January 21, 2025.

Previously, the “Right to Reproductive Freedom Amendment” was passed by the Senate on March 7, 2023, by a vote of 21-3. However, the House adjourned without taking it up, so it wasn’t on the November 5, 2024 ballot.

Abortion isn’t Freedom for Women

Setting aside the violence (and therefore lack of equal protection) done to unborn children, a point which proponents of this measure steadfastly ignore, the rhetoric they use about women also steadfastly ignores harm done.
