Proposal on Alternatives
For an approach that might be helpful for referendum, legislation, or seeking of foundation grants or other help, we have a report of all the ten (of 51) Planned Parenthood Centers in New York that don’t have a Community Health Center within five miles. Having a CHC or similar service provider near the PP center may draw people away from the PP center for such medical services as well-woman exams, STD testing, and family planning, thereby taking them away from an abortion-promoting environment.

Proposal on Consumer Safety
New York does regular health inspections, but the results are essentially unavailable to the public. Reports are usually heavily redacted and never indicate which facility location was covered. This is unusual – in fact, while there are states that do no inspections at all, there are none other that do inspections but don’t make details publicly available. A requirement to make details public can be proposed as a consumer protection measure and therefore receive widespread support.
